DANIEL “DANNY” JOSEPH MAESTAS, 48, a resident of El Guache, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2017. Daniel was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Pedro and Maria Ruben Maestas; maternal grandparents, Miguel and Elosia Valdez; brother, Lenny Maestas. Daniel was employed with Black Ridge Construction, and was an avid and proud Dallas Cowboys fan. He is survived by his daughters, Delayna Delgado, Tiffany Amber and Sherri Maestas all of Espanola, son, Daniel (DJ) Gallegos of Rio Chama; granddaughters, Haley Chavez, Nevenah Manzanares of Espanola, grandson, Aiden Wallace of Espanola; parents, Maclovio and Linda V. Maestas of El Guache; sisters, Pam (Silviano) Tucker of Dixon, Margaret (Ray) Gallegos of Rio Chama, brothers, Alex (Cathy) Maestas of Rio Chama, Chris (Lola) Maestas of El Guache; nieces, Valerie Mincey, Ashley Padilla, Shana Garcia, Lynette Maestas, Victoria Maestas, Desi Lujan, Rayna and Nicki Gallegos, Shannon and Kayla Martinez, nephews, Anthony Maestas, Thomas Maestas, Nick and Mateo Maestas, C.J., Jeremiah, Joshua Maestas; Baptismal God parents, Leroy and Velma Martinez; and confirmation God father, Ricky Baros and great nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a wake service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at San Jose Catholic Church in Hernandez, with a burial to follow at the San Jose Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Juan Garcia, Chris Maestas, Nick Maestas, C.J. Maestas, Alex Maestas, and Anthony Maestas, honorary pallbearers, D.J. Gallegos, Ray Gallegos, Silviano Tucker, Ronnie Vigil, and Brittney Salazar.
