Crusita Martinez

Crusita Martinez, 81, a resident of Española, born on February 24, 1934, passed away to be with our Lord on Thursday, May 7, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ruben Martinez; parents, Jesus Maria and Matilda Valdez; in-laws, Lucas and Marqarita Martinez; brothers, Fred, Joe and Ted Valdez, sisters, Belen Lucero, Ascension Herrera, and Antonia Jaramillo. Mrs. Martinez is survived by her children, Ruben Martinez (Annette), June Marquez (Companion), Gilbert Martinez (Judy), Tony Martinez (Lori), Carla Martinez and Diane Peña (Larry); also considered her children, Louis and Julie Berry; brother, Eliseo Valdez (Pauline); 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews that she loved. She will be greatly missed. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 15, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada, with a burial to follow at the Velarde Cemetery.
