CORRINE R. LUCERO, 85, a resident of Santa Cruz, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, November 3, 2016. Corrine was preceded in death by her parents, Eloy and Eloisa Roybal; sisters, Lina Roybal, Emilia Roybal, brother, Epifanio Roybal, Longtime companion, Willie Vigil; father of her children, Jose A. Lucero. She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Ruiz-Khan and companion Derrick Sewell of Santa Cruz, Brenda Salazar of Albuquerque, son, Louie (Fisher) Roybal of Dixon; sisters, Sally Maestas and husband Lupe of San Pedro, Fabiola Calkins of Alcalde, Rosie Pena of Santa Fe, brothers, Richard Roybal and companion Evila Rendon of Espanola, Tony Roybal of California; granddaughters, Cristiana Ruiz and companion Vicente Talachy, Debbie Ruiz-Ojeda and husband Juan Ojeda, Guadalupe Ruiz and companion Marco Duran, grandson, Jose Manuel Ruiz and companion Josette Marroquin all of Santa Cruz and many other grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren. The family sends a very special thank you to Marcell Murray who was like a very special Angel also special thank you to Elvira Ortiz Orozco and her very special friend Becky. Public visitation will begin on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 5:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 7, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada, with a burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers are Juan Ojeda, Vincente Talachy, Raymond (Victor) Maestas, Derrick Sewell, Jose Manuel Ruiz, Louie (Fisher) Roybal, honorary pallbearers named are, Cristiana Ruiz, Guadalupe Ruiz, Debbie Ruiz Ojeda and Michelle Cruz.
