Cornelio “Blinky” Lujan Jr., passed away peacefully into the arms of our heavenly father on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his parents Cornelio and Isabel Lujan, friend Jeanie Catheart, nephews Danny, Eddie and Steve.
He is survived by his brother Louie Lujan and wife Angie and sister Viola Quintana. Nephews David and his wife Delia and Vincent. Great nieces, Tiprin, Leslie, Desiree, Trixie and Misty. Great nephews, Eric, Christopher, Daron, Brandon, and Devin. As well as several great grand nieces and nephews.
After graduating from Green River High School in Wyoming, Gilbert began his career with the forest service before enlisting in the Army. Following his service, he worked at the Kerr-McGee Co. uranium mines as an electrician in Grants, NM. He later relocated to Los Angeles, where he pursued a career as a commercial electrician in Downey, California. Eventually, he returned to his roots in Vadito, NM to care for his parents, Cornelio and Isabel.
With heartfelt gratitude, the family and friends of “Blinky” wish to extend their sincerest thanks to Inez Anna Gonzales for the compassionate care she provided to our beloved Blinky. As well as CNS Josephine Torres and Heather Velarde for their kindness and assistance.
A Rosary is scheduled on Friday, May 3, 2024, at 7:00 pm with a Funeral Mass scheduled the following day Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 11:00 am, all to take place at the Nuestra Señora de Los Dolores Church in Vadito, NM. Burial will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on May 8, 2024 at 12:30 pm will full honors.
