Corine G. Baros, age 98, a lifelong resident of the Pojoaque Valley, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born on June 22, 1926, to Jose Abel and Sarita Gonzales.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband LoLo Baros; son-in-law Lalio; grandsons Gary and Lalito; brothers Abel, Rubio, and Aniceto; sisters Teodorita, Flora, Martha (Paul), and Mary (Jimmy); brothers-in-law Alejandro, Lorenzo (Reyita), Armando (Lorenza), and Eloy (Marcella); sisters-in-law Vicky (Ambrose) and Emilina (Leo).

Corine was a hard-working strong woman who began working at a young age to initially support her siblings and then her own family. She loved her family deeply and protected them with all her might. No matter how much or how little she had, she would always lend a helping hand to those who needed it. She lived life to the fullest, making friends everywhere she went. She had a great sense of humor and a great right hook. Some of her favorite hobbies were taking pictures, cooking (especially her biscochitos and jarred green chili), sewing baby blankets, writing letters and completing word search puzzles. She loved children, music, dancing and traveling. She loved cheering on her Duke Men’s basketball team and was a proud Blue Devil. She was a devoted catholic with a special devotion to Our Blessed Mother.
