Consuelo G. Age - 90 - Dixon Martinez

Consuelo G. Martinez, 90, a lifelong resident of Dixon passed away from a lengthy illness on Wednesday, May 23, 2012. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother & friend. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe A. Martinez; sons: Leroy, Elmer and Joseph; parents, Feliberto and Escolastica Vigil Garcia; sister, Casilda Jaramillo; brother, Placido Garcia. Consuelo is survived by her devoted sons: Elbert (Eva) of Rio Rancho, Michael (Florence) of Española, Kenneth (Cecilia) of Española, Wilfred (Patty) of Santa Fe; brother, Gustavo (Christine) Garcia of Taos; sister, Angie Graham of Portales; daughter-in-law, Helen Martinez of Norwalk, CA; Melvin Montoya of Dixon, who was like a son; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Ernestine Garcia and Evila Rendon of Española, Grace Medina of Lyden, Lucille Liedkie of Belen; brothers-in-law: Augustine (Lucille) Martinez of Albuquerque, Carlos (Elisaida) Martinez of Española, Clarence Duran of Dixon; numerous nieces, nephews & other loving relatives and friends. Public visitation will be held on Friday, May 25, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Velarde. Burial will follow at Father Cooper Cemetery in Embudo with the following grandsons serving as pallbearers: Vincent, Feliberto, Armando, Ricardo, Joseph, Leonard and Elroy Martinez and Juan Cordova. Honorary pallbearers named are: Miguel Martinez, Melvin Montoya, and Eloy Cordova. The family of Consuelo G.
