Concha Martinez , 72, born on March 1, 1946 and a resident of Chimayo, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 4, 2018 with her loving family by her side. Concha was preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, Raymond T. Martinez; parents, Max and Maria S. Martinez and Juan B. Lucero; mother and father-in-law, Teresita and Esquipula Martinez; and son-in-law Albert J. Diaz. Concha was a loving person who loved her family dearly. Family, friends and God were very important to her and she loved us all. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all who knew her. Concha died as she lived and fought hard until the very end. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. Concha is survived by her six loving children, Cindy (Josh), Annabelle, Elmer (Faith), Ronnie, Ray (Barbara) and Connie (Jody); her precious grandchildren whom she raised as her own and loved so dearly, Jaden, Danika and Amanda Martinez; grandchildren, Ray Jr., Jeremy, Angel, Justin, Shaylee Ray, Daveigh, Ashley, Jolene, Albert, John Paul, Javen and Serenity; great-grandchildren, Raquel, Jeremy Jr., Alma, Elsie, Karlee Rae, Kaylee Rae and Kaleb; sisters, Judy Martinez (Paul), Cathy Vissaraga (Paul), Mary Ortiz (Jimmy), Helen Martinez, Israel Martinez (Edna), Tony Martinez (Evila), Herson Vigil (Jane) and Max Martinez; God-daughters, Angel and Jennifer and long list of nieces, nephews and many other extended relatives and friends. The family wants you to know how important you all were to her. A rosary will be recited on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. also at Holy Family Catholic Church with burial to follow at the Nuestra Señora de Dolores Cemetery in Chimayo. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Ronnie, Elmer, Justin, Jeremy, Ray Jr., Jaden, Albert and Josh. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family of Concha Martinez has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
