Cipriano “Cippie” A. Archuleta, 69 a resident of La Mesilla, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, February 20, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose R. and Rosa P Archuleta; brother, Donaldo B. Archuleta; sister, Louisa A. Martinez; two daughters: Beverly Ann and Yvonne C.; grandson, Gabriel M. Archuleta.\r\n Cippie is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary Martha S. Archuleta; his only surviving daughter, Pamela and husband Jerry “Jay” Lujan; grandchildren: Desiree, Estevan and Brandon Lujan; sisters: Irene and husband Clarence Martinez, Vicenta and husband Leo B. Martinez, sister-in-law, Martha Archuleta, brother-in-law, Frank C. Martinez; close niece whom he considered a daughter, Mildred Martinez; numerous other nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind special and close extended Mascarenas’ family from his beloved community of Youngsville, NM.\r\n Cipriano was proud to have served in the U.S. Air Force. Cippie retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 33 years of dedicated service. His love of people and traveling led him to further his career at Regional Transit Department (RTD). He was an avid outdoorsman and he loved driving and seeing the landscape of Northern New Mexico. Cippie loved his family and friends with all of his heart and often made surprise visits to tell them.\r\n Public visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a wake to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada with burial to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Desiree and Estevan Lujan, Jonathan, Clarence Jr., Derwin and Joey Martinez. Honorary pallbearers are, Brandon Lujan, Tomas Archuleta, Manny and Jerry Gallegos, Richard and Bruce Martinez, and Aileen Barela. The family of Cipriano “Cippie” A. Archuleta have entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
