Cipia R. Dominguez, 90, a resident of Chimayo, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 3, 2013. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Consuelo Dominguez; parents, Victor and Veronize Romero; brothers: Jeremias Romero and Felix Romero; sister, Adonelia Pacheco; god-daughter, Lorraine Barela. Cipia was a loving wife of 67 years, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and neighbor. She loved cooking, canning and drying fruit. She made the best tortillas and loved making them for others. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. Many evenings you could find her enjoying the outdoors sitting on her front porch. Cipia loved visiting others and especially those in nursing homes. She was a Christian woman who loved the Lord Jesus Christ. Rest in peace Cipia you will be dearly missed, until we are reunited again. Cipia is survived by her husband, Nestor Dominguez of Chimayo; children: Jimmy Dominguez and wife Monce of San Manuel, AZ; Gloria D. Garcia and husband Lupe of Arroyo Seco, NM; Louie Dominguez and wife Myra of Commerce City, CO; Walter and Larry Dominguez of Chimayo; Bernice Ortiz and husband Rosendo of San Manuel, AZ; Esther Morales and husband Luis of San Antonio, TX; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Priscilla Romero of La Mesilla; brothers: Arsenio Romero and wife Bernie of Cordova, NM and Moises Romero and wife Matilde of Cordova, NM; brother-in-law, Filiberto (Lucy) Dominguez of Grants, NM; sisters-in-law: Nellie (Augustine) Valdez of Albuquerque, NM, Oralia Dominguez of Colorado Springs, CO; numerous other loving relatives & friends. Public visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a devotional to follow at 7:00 p.m. Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the Lighthouse Church in Chimayo with burial to follow at Llanitos Cemetery in Truchas with the following serving the family as pallbearers: Cesar and Jacob Ortiz, Sammy and Christian Dominguez, Lee Garcia and Luis Morales; honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
