\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n CHRISTOPHER VIGIL, 32, a resident of Española, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 23, 2010. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Viola Valdez and Soraida Vigil. He was a very loving, caring person who was always willing to lend a hand. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his children and family. He was also a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. Mr. Vigil is survived by his children, Destiney, Christopher Jr. and Michael John Vigil all of Española and Alcalde; parents, Michael and Hilda Vigil of Española and Chimayo; sisters, April Vigil of Española and Juanita Valdez of Alcalde; God-sister, Frances Palomares of Española; mother of his children, Carmen Vigil of Alcalde; grandfathers, Floyd Valdez of Alcalde and Estanislado Vigil of Chimayo and many aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Sunday, February 28, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Monday, March 1, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Serving as pallbearers, Eric, Juanito and Danny Valdez, Arturo Camargo, Jose and Andrew Palomares, Daniel Vigil and Donald Rios. Honorary pallbearers named are all of his other cousins.
