Christopher Lee Martinez, 41, of Gallina, NM, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 1, 2024.
Preceded in death by his grandparents: Liberato Sanchez, Jake Martinez (Bea), Ignacita Aguirre (Benito); half-sisters Stephanie and Desirae; Uncles Benino, Robert, Paul, Jerry and aunt Barbara Martinez, godfather Isaac Trujillo, special cousins T.J. and Kenneth Sanchez.
Chris was a man whose warmth and humor brought joy to all who knew him. His kindness and generosity were matched only by his adventurous spirit. Whether hunting, fishing, or hiking, he loved spending time outdoors. Chris also enjoyed music, mechanics, and drawing.
A gifted and dedicated individual, Chris earned an associate’s degree in computer science and networking, where his aptitude for mathematics earned him the well-deserved title of "math whiz". His talents were many, but it was his passion for hands-on work in construction that truly captured his heart. As a journeyman, Chris approached every project with care, pride, and skill.
Chris was always ready to lend a hand, offering support and kindness to family, friends, and even strangers. His respect for others, coupled with his thoughtfulness and generosity, made him a pillar in the lives of those who knew him.
He leaves a legacy of love, dedication, and adventure through his five children, who were the joy of his life. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Chris is survived by his parents, Norma Sanchez and Chris Martinez (Lavern); children Christopher, Miranda, Angelica, Jazzmyn and Joziyah Martinez; sister Suzzette Garcia (Juan); half-brother Christino; Grandmother Onofre Sanchez; goddaughter Tamara, Uncles: Tomas (Kellie), and Eddie; Aunts:godmother Lydia, Joann (Eloy), Ruby, Gloria, Pauline, Roseann, Frieda and Fatima; step-sister Heather, nieces, nephews, mothers of his children Vanessa and Tanya, and many cousins.
A celebration of life will take place on Friday December 13, 2024, at 2:00pm at Victory Faith Church. A private burial will take place on a later date.
