Christopher Baca

Christopher S. Baca “Chris”, from El Rito, NM, was called to his forever home with our Heavenly Father on June 26, 2023. His Family is deeply saddened by his sudden death.

Chris is preceded in death by his father Eddie J. Baca, niece/goddaughter Gabriella Angel Baca, maternal grandfather Delfin Moya, uncles Andrew Moya, Santana Baca, Esquiel Baca, Uvaldo Baca, and his special cousin Jeremy Jaramillo.

Chris adored and loved all of his children dearly. He instilled values, morals, and taught his children many life skills. He enjoyed spending lots of time in the mountains, hauling wood and latillas, fishing, and hunting while being with his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his daughter Deandrea Baca, sons Isaah and Edwardo Baca, mother Ramona Moya, brother Mario Baca, sister Erlinda Baca, nieces Santana Gallegos, Aleyana Baca, nephews  Godson Santiago Martinez, Phillip Rodriguez, maternal grandmother Guadalupe Moya, aunts Prescilla Pries (Bob), Millie Conlon, Lorraine Garcia (Ron), Audrey Jaramillo, Viola Baca, Antonia Madrid (Chano), Lola Aranda (Adam), Melba Baca, special uncle Felipe Martinez, Godfather Tony Jaramillo, and numerous cousins, friends and extended family.

A public visitation will begin on Thursday July 6, 2023 at 6:00 pm in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel at DeVargas Funeral Home in Espanola, NM. Rosary will follow at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be on Friday July 7, 2023 at 10:00 am at San Juan Napumoceno Catholic Church in El Rito, NM. Burial will follow at the El Rito Community Cemetery in El Rito, NM.

Pallbearers will be Isaah Baca, Edwardo Baca, Aleyana Baca, Mario Baca, Santiago Martinez, Johnathan Encinias, Roman Montoya, and Salomon Martinez.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Nick Ocana, Gabriel Trujillo, Orlando Garcia, Jason Roybal, Tony Jaramillo, Chris Ocana, and Jessie Lucero.
