Christina - Age 76 - Santa Fe - Valerio

CHRISTINA BORREGO VALERIO, 76, a resident of Santa Fe was born September 19, 1937 and joined our Heavenly Father on Monday, August 18, 2014 following lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lucy Valerio; parents, Juan C. and Lucia M. Borrego; brother, Gilbert Borrego; sisters, Trinnie B. Espinoza, Sennie B. Barth and baby sister, Therese Borrego; step-mother, Cesaria M. Borrego. Christina was born and raised in Santo Niño. Some of her favorite hobbies included dancing, cooking and spending time with her family and friends. After surviving brain surgery in 1994 that left her paralyzed, she never stopped fighting. She believed in the power of prayer and spent her time praying for the health and well-being of others. Mrs. Valerio is survived by her children, Danny Valerio (Shannon), Marc A. Valerio (Angelina) and John Valerio (Pam); brother, Juan Borrego (Theresa); sisters, Petra B. Martinez (Castulo), Lydia Lopez (Ross), Amelia B. Lobato; sister-in-law, Fabiola Borrego; grandchildren, Marcae Riggs, Marc Valerio, Jr., Nicole Vigil and Jennifer Roybal and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Memorial mass to be celebrated on Friday, August 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Capilla de Santo Niño de Atocha Church in Santa Cruz. Burial to follow at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Anthony Valerio, Jocelynn and Elisyana Vigil. The family of Christina Borrego Valerio has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
