Christian R. - Age 24 - Peñasco Gurule -

Christian R. Gurulé, 24, a resident of Peñasco passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013. He was preceded in death by his cousin, Katie Faith Martinez; aunt, Elaine Elizabeth Gurulé. Christian was a very intelligent individual, graduated on May 11, from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor’s degree in philosophy. He was a proud member in the PI KAPPA ALPHA Fraternity. He was involved with the Hermanos de La Morada de Peñasco. Christian was a postulant at the Norbertine Community of Santa Maria de Vid, upon completion he would be sent to seminary to become a priest. Christian is survived by his parents, Clyde and Darlene Gurulé of Peñasco; sister, Deidra Gurulé and companion Monaco Armijo of Albuquerque; special niece, Amari Armijo of Albuquerque; paternal grandparents, Aurelio and Elizaida Gurulé of Peñasco; maternal grandparents, Ernest and Ruth Martinez of Peñasco; paternal uncles/aunts: Hazel Pacheco and husband Luis, Karen Portillo and husband Roger, James Gurulé, Joseph Gurulé and wife Denise; maternal uncles/aunts: LouAnne Tafoya and husband Jerry, Emmy Lou Garcia and husband Tony, Marilyn Aragon and husband Clarence, Julie Anne Sanchez and husband Dan, Ernest Martinez and wife Melina, Melvin Martinez and wife Deborah; numerous other loving cousins, relatives & friends. Public visitation will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in Peñasco with a rosary to take place at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in Peñasco with burial to follow at La Morada de San Antonio Catholic Cemetery in Peñasco with the following serving as pallbearers: Frank Pacheco, Steven Abeyta, Jason Gonzales, Kendrick Sanchez, Santiago Aragon, Anthony Garcia, Jared Tafoya and Dennis Dominguez. The family of Christian R. Gurulé have entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
