Christella - Age 73 - Tierra Amarilla Binion

Cristella Binion, 73, a resident of Tierra Amarilla was called from this life after a lengthy illness with her loving family by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Binion; son, Bobby Binion; brother, Tony Garcia; sister, Leontina Quintana; brother, Feliberto Garcia, and her parents, Santiago and Juanita Garcia.Cristella enjoyed every day to the fullest, most of all she enjoyed the company of her family. She was an avid sports fan and was particularly fond of the Escalante Lobos and Dallas Cowboys. For the greater part of her life she worked outside of the home. She worked at Rio Arriba County Court House, Chama Valley Schools, and Rio Arriba County Senior Center and during the summer at Corkins Lodge. She especially loved crocheting, baking pastelitos, and making jellies for her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Binion is survived by her three sons, Ronald and wife Gina of Alcalde, Travis and wife Ula Marie of Cebolla, and Jason and wife Sonya of Cuba; grandchildren, Jude, Shane, Bo, Tracie, Robby, Harley, Payton, and Montana; sisters, Lupe Martinez, Gertude Marker, and Gloria Chacon (Joe) and numerous nieces and nephews. Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A second rosary will be recited on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the Santo Nino Catholic Church in Tierra Amarilla. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 20 at 11:00 a.m. also at the Santo Nino Catholic Church in Tierra Amarilla. Burial to follow at the Los Ojos Cemetery with Ronald, Travis, Jason, Jude, Bo and Shane serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers named are her grandchildren, Tracie, Robby, Harley, Payton, and Montana. The family of Cristella Binion would like to thank family and friends, St. Vincent’s Regional Cancer Center and Ambercare for their overwhelming support and assistance and during this difficult time. The family of Cristella Binion has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home &Crematory of the Española Valley.
