Christ Martinez

CHRIST MARTINEZ, 44, a resident of Chimayo, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2015 following a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Martinez and brother, Johnny Martinez. He loved his Harley, Low-riders, traveling and loved his family. He was a kind generous and loving man. Mr. Martinez is survived by his wife, Cindy Martinez; children, Leroy Martinez and companion Brittany Valdez, Tyra Martinez and companion Jewelious and Heather Martinez all of Chimayo; granddaughter, LeAndra Martinez of Medanales; mother, Ida Martinez of Española; brothers, Anthony Martinez and wife Carol of Farmington, Joseph Martinez and wife Candy of Española, Gerald Martinez and wife Tamara, James Martinez of Alamosa, CO, David Martinez and wife Cynthia of Española; in-laws, Felipe Romero and wife Sulema of Chimayo; nephew, Joey Martinez and wife Desiree of Española and many other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada, with a burial to follow at Nuestra Señora de Carmel Cemetery in Chimayo. Serving the family as pallbearers, Anthony, James, Gerald, Joseph, David, Leroy, Joey and Zachary Martinez.
