Chris R. Archuleta, 54, a resident of Riverside passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, January 19, 2012. He was preceded in death by his father, Emilio Archuleta. Chris is survived by his mother, Rumalda Martinez; step-father, Alfonso; children: Chris Archuleta and companion Stella, Nick Archuleta and wife Rain and Naomi Valdez; mother of his children, Louise Valdez; grandchildren: Breanna, Jordan, Riley, Lyric, Mia and Isla all of Denver; sisters: Carmella Martinez and husband Richard, Angelica Martinez and companion Stanley Garcia; nieces: Elisha and JeAnna Martinez of Las Cruces; nephew, Daniel Cordova of the home; a cousin very close to him he often referred to as a sister, Theresa Baros; aunts and uncles: Melciendro Naranjo, Minnie Martinez, Tomas Archuleta and Margaret Salazar; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends. Public visitation will be held on Friday, January 27, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada with burial to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Daniel Cordova, Pete Padilla, Julian Martinez, Ray Salazar, Donald Naranjo and Isabro Ortega. The family of Chris R. Archuleta has entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley. 505-747-7477
