Cheyenne Kateri Cantrell, 31, a resident of Española, unexpectedly was called home to be with the Lord, on Saturday, March 14, 2015. Cheyenne was a high spirited person who was full of life, she had many friends, and was very generous. She touched the hearts of many people, she was always smiling and had a laugh that was contagious. Cheyenne will be missed dearly, and will always be remembered. Cheyenne was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Rosie McCall, paternal grandparents, Otto and Nida Cantrell; father, David Cantrell; brother, David “Brodo” Cantrell. She is survived by her mother, June McCall of Española; her three children, Fabian Pacheco III, Rosie Cantrell, and Hunnessy Cantrell all of Española; maternal grandfather, Ray McCall of Arizona; her fiancé Roscoe of Chimayo; two nieces, Keyonna Todd, Jazmine RainPratt of Colorado, nephews, Kikolai Baca of Española; sisters, Crystalyn Cantrell and companion Joseph Baca of Española, Amber Cantrell and companion Gerome Pratt, and Autumn Cantrell all of Colorado Springs; aunts, Cecilia Garcia of Española, Veda Lucero and companion, Clyde Romero of Alcalde, Vernon and Trudy McCall of Espanola, Melissa and John Quintana of Peñasco, Elizabeth and Karl of Española, and Michelle “Barbie” and Paul Apodaca; Godparents, Jimmy and Debbie of Albuquerque, and many other loving cousins and friends to far to mention. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 20, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Apostle Church in Abiquiu, with a burial to follow at the Los Angeles Cemetery in Abiquiu. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Joseph Baca, Fabian Pacheco II, Ian Quintana, Fernando Martinez, Nick Maestas, and Elmer Lucero, honorary pallbearers named are Aunty Beverly Lopez, and Germel Trujillo. The family of Cheyenne Cantrell has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
