Charles Dennis Casias

Charles Dennis Casias, 80, a resident of Los Alamos New Mexico, passed away on November 24, 2023, of Pulmonary Fibrosis. 

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Patsy Gloria Casias. his mother Ramona Burmeister, stepfather, Slim Burmeister, sister, Bessie Romero, brothers Billy Burmeister, and Ronnie Burmeister; brothers in law Albert Gonzales, and Steve Romero along with several nephews. 

Dennis was born on June 3, 1943, in Raton, New Mexico, he graduated from Cimarron High School in 1962. He married Patsy Gloria Trujillo on July 6, 1963. While living in Los Alamos, Dennis worked at the Los Alamos National Laboratory for Zia Corporation as an expert carpenter. Dennis enjoyed watching his sons play sports for Los Alamos High School. He had several hobbies including building woodwork projects and fishing. He was also an active member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Los Alamos. Dennis was a member of the Betty Ehart Senior Center where he enjoyed spending time with friends.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.

Dennis is survived by three sons, Dennis Casias, Donald Casias (Lisa), and Carlos Casias; three grandchildren, Michael Casias, Matthew Casias, and Isabella Casias, and great grandson, Donavan Casias; sisters, Mary Lucille Marquez, Doris Gonzales, Bella Martinez (Mario), Linda Meyer (Calvin), Judy Ledoux (Ernie), and bothers Robert Casias (Sheryl), and Joseph Cruz (Debbie); uncle and great uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.

A public visitation will be on Friday, December 8, 2023, at 11:00 followed by a funeral service at 12:00 pm at DeVargas Funeral Home and Crematory.

A memorial service will be conducted at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Los Alamos in the Spring of 2024.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Betty Ehart Senior Center, 1101 Bathtub Row, Los Alamos, NM 87544. 

The family of Charles Dennis Casias has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home and Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
