Celina Dolores Maestas-Baldonado, a resident of Española passed away from a lengthy illness on Wednesday, May 9, 2012. She was a homemaker & loved to cook. She was famous for her beans and sopaipillas. In her younger years she loved playing the guitar & riding horses. Celina loved to dance, pick piñon and knit. She will be dearly missed. Celina was preceded in death by her infant child, Abrancita Baldonado; parents, Hilario and Bersabe Maestas; sister, Dolorsita Lucero; favorite cousin, Stella Garcia; nephews: Andres Maestas, Levi Gonzales, Tony Romero, Abel Lucero and Ramon Maestas. Celina is survived by her son, Abrain Baldonado of Espanola and his children: Edward, Alina, Beverly, Rebecca and Monique, and his 8 grandchildren; her daughter, Lydia M. Vigil and husband Manuel of Española and her children: Mabel, Linda, Helen, Felicia, Amanda and Anna, and her 9 grandchildren; her daughter, Carmen Vigil of Glorieta and her children: Rosemary, Matthew and Danielle, and her 2 grandchildren; father of her children, Abran Baldonado; brother, Hilario Maestas and wife Gloria of Grants; sister, May Maestas of Española; best friends like sisters: Louise Rico, Ferminia Salazar and Juanita Valdez; numerous nephews, nieces & other loving relatives and friends. Public visitation will be held on Monday, May 14, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christina burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Española with burial to follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers are: Matthew, Isaiah and Lee Michael Vigil, Joshua Trujillo, Benny Vigil, Felicia and Mabel Vigil; honorary pallbearers will be all her grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
