Celina - Age 87 - Chimayo Martinez

Celina M. Martinez, 87, a resident of Chimayo, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2014 following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herculano and Senaida Montoya; sons, Roberto and Estevan Martinez; brothers, Filiberto Montoya, and Margarito Gallegos; in-laws, Norberto and Aurora Martinez; brothers and sisters-in-law, Salomon Martinez, Estella Martinez, Ismael Martinez, Pauline Martinez, and Jenny Martinez. Celina is survived by her husband of 65 years, Genaro V. Martinez of Chimayo; children, Ralph Martinez and wife Carlotta of Peñasco, Kate Salazar and husband Roland of Chimayo, William Martinez and wife Erika of Denver CO, Patricia Trujillo and husband Vince of San Pedro, and Penny Salazar and husband Marvin of San Pedro; siblings, Margret Smith, Minnie Rael and husband Gilbert, Adela Martinez and husband Ernesto, Tito Montoya and wife Modesta; sisters-in-law, Emilia Montoya, and Grace Gallegos; in- laws, Lorenzo Martinez, Ernesto Martinez and wife Maria, Rita Munoz, Sarita Vega and Oralia Fernandez, 12 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. also at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh. Cremation will follow the services. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Ralph Martinez, Andrew Martinez, Teddy Martinez, Carlos Trujillo, Luke Salazar, and Ray Martinez. The family of Celina Martinez has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley. \r\n \r\n
