Celida T. Age - 93 Cordova Romero

CELIDA T. ROMERO, 93, a resident of Cordova, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2011 following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Julian and Rafaelita Torres; husband, Jeremias Romero; sons, Tobias, Felipe, Julian and Orlando Romero; son-in-law, Salomon Martinez; grandchildren, Larry and Leland Romero and Ricky Martinez; brothers, Remijio and Leopoldo Torres; sisters, Barbara Trujillo, Elisea Sandoval and Sarafina Salazar; cousin raised like a sister, Sylvia Cordova; very special sister-in-law, Adonelia Pacheco and brothers-in-law, Felix and Tony Romero, Max Salazar, Adonaiso Martinez, Fidel Sandoval and Gordon Pacheco. On August 24, 1936 she married the love of her life, Jeremias Romero. Together they had 9 children, two of which passed away as infants. Celida was a very loving and wonderful mother, grandmother; great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She lived to see the 5th generation of her descendants. She was always there for her children and her grandchildren. Celida was a very faithful catholic and had a lot of faith in God. She was very wise beyond her years. She was a member of La Sagrada Familia; she was a Carmelita and a church cleaner. She was a good cook and wife very full of life. She is loved and will be missed by all. Mrs. Romero is survived by her children, Herman Romero of Cordova, Anita Martinez of Cordova, Lydia Baca and husband Cornelio of Chimayo, Pamie Chacon and husband Eddie of Alcalde, and Cecilia Pacheco and husband Harold of Truchas; daughter-in-law, Betty Romero of Chimayo; sister, Clorinda Martinez of Cordova; sister-in-law, Cleotilde Torres of Cordova; grandchildren, Durine Aguilar and husband Ricky, JulieAnn Sandoval and husband Ray Ben, Don Martinez, Monica Valdez and husband Vicente, Dickie Baca and wife Crystal, Glen Baca, Abran Chacon and wife Michelle, Jeremy Chacon, Sonya Pacheco, Shenel Dinwiddie and husband Derek and Adam Pacheco; 25 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; special nephew, Jake Pacheco; comadre and roommate, Leonardita Baca; brothers-in-law, Pete Trujillo, Moises Romero and wife Matilde and Arsenio Romero and wife Bernie all of Cordova; sisters-in-law, Cipia Dominguez and husband Nestor of Chimayo and Prescila Romero of La Mesilla and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Friday, February 18, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Burial to follow at the Cordova Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Adam Pacheco, Jeremy and Abran Chacon, Dickie and Glen Baca and Don Martinez. Honorary pallbearers named are, Durine, JulieAnn, Sonya, Shenel and Monica. The family of Celida T.
