\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n Celestina Maes, age 80, a resident of Espanola, formerly of Canjilon, passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2010, following a short illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Juanito B. Maes; son, Adolfo Maes; mother, Margarita Vigil, and her granddaughter, Bridgette Cordova. Celestina is survived by her daughters, Gloria Roberts and husband Duane, Priscilla Valdez and husband Abel, Tutsee (Onofre) Gabilondo, Eva Cordova and husband Nelson, Evelyn Maes Mary Lou Quintana and Tony Valerio, Margaret Alvarez and husband Salustiano , Virginia Jaramillo and husband Michael, Rosemary Boyet and husband Joe, Barbie Megariz and husband Michael, Melanie Suazo and husband Kenneth, and Tammy Maes; sons, Fernando Lopez and wife Dorothy, Tommy Maes and wife Marie, Fermin Maes and Chanda Martinez, Juanito Maes and wife Antoinette, and Joseph Maes and kids; sisters, Beatrice Perea and husband Fermin, Emilia Vigil and husband Tiburcio, Celine Martinez and husband Margarito; brother, Prax Martinez and wife Sylvia. She is also survived by 66 grandchildren, 87 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren. Public visitation will begin on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, a rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m. A second rosary will be recited on Sunday, March 7th at 7:00 p.m. at the San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church in Canjilon. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday March 8th, at 11:00 a.m. at the San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church. Burial will take place at the Canjilon Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Glenn Vialpando, Jude Valdez, Thomas Maes, Michael Jaramillo, Adolfo Maes and Nelson Cordova Jr. Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren.
