CECILIA ORTIZ, 45, a resident of El Rito, passed away of a short illness on Saturday, December 30, 2017. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Ortiz Jr.; niece, Sharon Ortiz. Cecilia loved going with Alice and other friends to the Casino. She loved camping and listening to Spanish music, she loved going shopping for new Jewelry. She is survived by her mother, Rosina Ortiz; siblings, Nancy Ortiz (Gene), Johnny Ortiz, Ralph Martinez (Phyllis), Joe Ortiz (DeeAnne); nieces, Audry Ortiz (Antoine), Angelita Sandoval and Breanna Martinez (Antonio). Public visitation will begin on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church in El Rito. Serving the family as a pallbearers Reyes Gallegos, honorary pallbearers are Francisco and Daniel Ortiz, Angel Sandoval, Addyson and Ayden Jenson.
