A life extended by God’s Grace, Carol Ann Cata, 64, a resident of Ohkay Owingeh went home to be with our Lord on Friday, December 2, 2011. Everyone was blessed by her presence. She loved to eat especially sweets. Carol was always happy and loved to express herself by making people laugh. She lived life to the fullest and was a great person to be around. Carol was preceded in death by her sister, Stella Clay; parents, Jose and Mary Cata; brothers: Cecilo Cata and Gregorio “Cop” Tapia. Carol is survived by her brothers: Herman Agoyo and wife Rachel, Donald A. Cata Sr. and wife Mabel and Donald J. Gonzales and wife Claudia; sister, Margaret L. Taylor and husband Jerry; numerous other nephews, nieces, and other loving relatives & friends. Public visitation will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. at First Indian Baptist Church in Española with a wake to follow at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 5, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. at First Indian Baptist Church in Española with burial to follow at Ohkay Owingeh Community Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Rich Taylor, Donald Cata Jr., Rainbird Taylor, Ryan Taylor, Logan Sapcutt, Duane Serna and Joe Paul Clay. Special thanks to Northern New Mexico Quality Care staff and director Eddie Romero and Ambercare staff, especially Iona Valdez and Nancy Cosner for their unconditional love and care, Duane and Jeanette Serna, close friends. Extended thanks to Ohkay Owingeh Governor, Ron Lovato and the Tribal Council, First Indian Baptist Church members, friends, neighbors and relatives for their generous donations of food, money and moral support.
