Carol Ann Honaberger Behounek - Courtesy

Carol Ann Honaberger Behounek 68, former resident of Alcalde, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2015 in Albuquerque where she had resided for the last twenty-five years. Carol was preceded in death by her husband Charles Behounek and her parents, Fauster and Louisa Honaberger of Alcalde. Carol is survived by her children, Louisa (Calvin) Stocks of Fayetteville, NC, Mary Frances Pellum of Albuquerque, Joe (Tammie) Behounek of Edgewood, Edith (Manuel) Quintana of Albuquerque and her grandchildren, Austin, Kiara, Bailey, MacKenzie and Zoe. Carol is also survived by her siblings, Beaulah (Eugene) Sandoval of Española, Faustina (Jose) Lucero of Santa Clara, David (Julia) Honaberger, Daniel (Angela) Honaberger, Cynthia (Paul) Lujan of Alcalde, and Felicia Denise (James) O Hara of Las Cruces and many nephews, nieces and other relatives. Carol attended the Alcalde Mission School, graduated from Española High School, attended NMSU and lived with her husband and children in Odessa, Texas and South Portland, Maine before moving to Albuquerque. She was an accomplished seamstress and an expert in arts and crafts projects which she shared with her family. Her children and grandchildren were the main focus of her life and she participated in all of their activities. Services for Carol will be held at the Alcalde United Methodist Church on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. followed by the interment at the Loma Vista Cemetery.
