Carol Renay Griffis, 53, a resident of Youngsville was called to heaven on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 with her husband and daughter by her side as she battled an illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carol Jean and Charles Glennis Griffis; brother, Terry Griffis. Renay was born on February 10, 1964 in Century, Florida where she was born and raised, and where she had a spent most her life until she met her lover Brian and began to travel the States together. Renay was a high school graduate the year of 1983 in Escambia, Century FL. Renay worked most of her life at different places and different cities as she traveled the States around with Brian. About 4 years ago back in 2013 she became disabled and was no longer able to work. Renay was a loving woman and had many friends from all over she loved to cook her cagian style food and they were the best foods too. There are so many memories still left of her and will remain in our hearts forever. She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Brian Barela (Her Tinman), daughter, Brittney Storm Griffis (Estevan Montoya), son, Ricky Robbins; mother-in-law, Delight Barela, father-in-law, Isauro Barela; and of course her doggy Chuey; niece, April Colfield; great-aunt, Jean Clark and many more family and friends from Florida to Coyote. Public Visitation will begin on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a burial to follow at 12:00 p.m. at the Coyote Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers are Estevan Montoya, Ray Jacquez, Vidas Garcia, Andrew, Justin Garcia and James Barela.
