Carmen S. Dixon, 75, a resident of Medanales passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 8, 2011. She was born on April 13, 1938 to Teofilo and Aurora Sisneros in Medanales. Carmen attended school in the Española Valley graduating from Española High School. Family was most important to Carmen and she cherished family gatherings, her unconditional love for each family member was without measure. Carmen also had a great sense of humor, joking with everyone. She took pride in her appearance and the vehicles that she drove. She never liked when her family members said good bye, she preferred them to say see you later. Carmen was preceded in death by her sons: Gerald and Steve Talamante; parents, Teofilo and Aurora Sisneros; sister, Georgia Vigil. Carmen is survived by her loving children: Linda Sisneros and partner Monica Roybal, Manuel R. Dixon and wife Darlene, Roland Dixon and wife Arlene, Dino Dixon and partner Janice, Anthony Dixon and wife Vanessa, Natasha DeCosta and Shirley Dixon; grandchildren: Stella, Cynthia, Gina, Charo, Amelia and Felicia Talamante, Frankie, Ricky, Sonya, Roland Jr., James and Jesse Dixon, Jolene and Ashley Duran, Ashley, Martine and Alicia Dixon, Gerald, Tanya and Dezirae Dixon, Meriah, Kayla and Jaclynn Gonzales, Leonard, Alex and Destiny Lucero, Steven DeCosta, 1 grandchild due in February; 17 great-grandchildren, one due in November; brothers: Jose and Ramon Sisneros of Medanales, Augustine Sisneros and wife Loveda of Lawndale, CA; sister, Eufemia Lehman of Medanales; many other loving relatives & friends. Public visitation will be held on Monday, September 12, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to follow at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at 12:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Española. The following will assist as pallbearers: Frankie, Gerald, Martine, Leonard, Alex and Jesse Dixon. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Ashley and James Dixon and Pam Quihuis.
