Carmelita C. Age - 92 Martinez

Carmelita C. Martinez, 92, was born March 5, 1919 and went to be with our Lord on December 3, 2011. With her she takes our love, our respect and our admiration; back to the God that created her. Embraced now in the loving arms of her late husband; Manuel Y. Martinez, who preceded her in death 13 years ago. With us she leaves the beauty of her smile, the gentleness of her love, the kindness of her understanding, her devotion, and her deep faith in God. She was also preceded in death by her son, Amado; daughter, Veronica; grandson, Steven; parents, Juanita and Jose Maria Coriz; sons-in-law: Florentino Trujillo and Archie Romero; sister, Dulcina Martinez; brother, Narciso Coriz; brothers-in-law: Ascencion and Esquipula Y. Martinez; sisters-in-law: Bernadita Coriz, Evangelia Martinez and Julia Salazar. Carmelita is survived by her children: Rose Romero, Viola Romero, Connie Martinez and husband David, Lucille Ortiz and husband LeRoy, Rita Martinez and husband Eddie, Virginia Duran, Lorraine Salazar and husband Victor, Berlinda Maestas and husband Mario, Manuel Martinez and wife Lourdes and Albert Martinez and wife Patsy; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; sisters: Aurelia Vigil and husband Jose Ramon, Seferina Martinez, Grace Salazar and husband Andres; daughter-in-law, Helen Martinez. Rosary will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo with burial to follow at Nuestra Señora de Dolores Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Henry Romero Jr., Jayo Martinez, Tim Martinez, Lenny Ortiz, Alex Martinez and Andrew Martinez; honorary pallbearers will be: Carmelita’s grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
