Carlos Hurtado

CARLOS DANIEL HURTADO , 24, a resident of Alcalde, was born June 29, 1995 and passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 9, 2020. He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, Ernesto and Maclovia Yanez and Antonio and Juanita Hurtado; uncles, Ernest “Sonny” Yanez and Robert Martinez, Jr. Carlos attended Northern New Mexico College and was pursuing a degree in forestry. He was employed with the Rocky Mountain Youth Corp in Taos which led to his love of being and working in the mountains and pursuing a career in forestry. Carlos was an inspiring young man. He was always looking out for others. He had the biggest smile and loved to make people laugh. He was always joking around and pulling pranks. He was a very loving and caring young man. Carlos made a big impact in many peoples lives and will never be forgotten. We were truly blessed to have him in our lives. We will always love him and cherish our memories with him and hold them in our hearts forever. Carlos is survived by his son, Carlos CJ Hurtado, Jr.; mother, Rosalinda Hurtado; father, Jeffrey Gee; sisters, Amber Gee and Desiree Gonzales; maternal grandparents, Juan and Carmen Sandoval and Antonio Hurtado, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Wayne and Peggy Gee; aunts, Rebecca Yanez and Layla Yanez; uncle who was like a brother, Ernest Yanez and many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Due to unforeseen circumstances regarding COVID-19, services will be held at a later date and will be announced . The family of Carlos Daniel Hurtado has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
