Carl Edward Age - 50 - Chamita Cordova

Carl Edward Cordova, 50, a resident of Chamita passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 23, 2011 as a result of a boating accident at Santa Cruz Lake. Carl was born on April 9, 1961 in Española to Tony M. and Ursula Cordova. Carl loved to be surrounded by his family and loved to fish so much that if anyone was looking for him and could not find him he was always at the lake. He was very religious, loved his Catholic faith, his favorite saying was, “My sweet Jesus.” He was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society and a Eucharistic Minister a San Juan Parish. Carl was very kind hearted and giving, convincing those around him to give as well. He was dedicated to his work as a roofer alongside his father and brothers with the family business, Cordova Roofing as well as working as a roofer with LANL. Carl was preceded in death by his father, Tony M. Cordova; brothers: Danny and Anthony Cordova; niece, Angel Garcia; paternal grandparents, Mariano & Adelaida Cordova; maternal grandparents, Rogelio and Carmelita Lucero; godmother, Rafaelita Salazar. Carl is survived by his wife the love of his life, Lucinda Cordova; children: Joshua Denipah and companion Christina Chavez, Chrystal Yazzie and husband Stephenson, Ashley Archuleta and companion Ruben Espinoza; step-son, Julio Gurule; mother, Ursula Cordova and Richard Salazar; sisters: Susie Cordova and Carmen Garcia; brother, Floyd Cordova and wife Claudette; 9 grandchildren; father-in-law, Juan C. Fernandez; brother-in-law, David Fernandez; sister-in-law, Marcella Martinez and husband Johnny; many nieces/nephews, other loving relatives and lots of friends. Rosary will be recited on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 28, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh. Serving as pallbearers will be: Danny Cordova, Jose Lopez, Jeremiah Cordova, David Salazar, Stephenson Yazzie, Simon and Sarah Balkey; honorary pallbearers: Richard Salazar, Timothy Martinez, Michael Martinez, Khrystopher Montaño, David Fernandez, Greg Barbee, Brian Martinez, Lionel Maestas and Jake H.
