Brian - Age 41 - Canjilon - Montaño

BRIAN THOMAS MONTAÑO, SR., 41, a resident of Canjilon, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 11, 2012. He was preceded in death by his father, Jose Prudencio Montaño, Sr.; nephew, Patrick Montaño; brother-in-law, Ambrose Velasquez. Brian loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping. He loved helping people and spending time with his family and friends. He was much loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Mr. Montaño is survived by the mother of his children, Noella Montaño of Española; son, Brian Montaño, Jr. of Canjilon; daughter, Chelsey Montaño of Española; mother, Celina Sally Montaño of Canjilon; sisters, Theresa Montaño of Canjilon, Lola Lopez of Laguna, Veronica Lopez and companion George of Canjilon and Martha Montoya and husband Jacob of Canjilon; brother, Jose P. Montaño, Jr. and wife Linda of Ruidoso; companion, Mary Jo Leyba and her daughter, Elizabeth Trujillo of Canjilon; close nephew, Estevan Maestas of Canjilon; brother-in-law, Manuel Maestas of Canjilon; grandparents of his children, Phil and Lorraine Velasquez of Canjilon; his dog, Bandit and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. A devotional service will be held on Monday, October 15, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Victory Faith Church in Española. The family of Brian Thomas Montaño, Sr. has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
