Brenda L. Age - 47 - Alcalde Salazar-Lovato

BRENDA L. SALAZAR-LOVATO, 47, a resident of Alcalde, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2012. She was preceded in death by her father, Jose B. Salazar and mother-in-law, June B. Lovato. She was a Silversmith by trade. She was a local visiting artist in the Española Public Schools, teaching tinsmith, process of making retablos, and many more types of art. She enjoyed working with children. The highlight of her summer was the Spanish Market. She also participated in the Dixon Tour, founder of Dixon and Friends and many more art and craft fairs. Her passion of art and children lead her to furthering her education in becoming an art school teacher the best of both worlds. She will be missed dearly and never forgotten. Mrs. Salazar-Lovato is survived by her husband, Clyde L. Lovato; daughters, Christy and Teresa Lovato; mother, Orlinda Sanchez; step-father, Alfred Sanchez; sisters, Lydia Lopez and husband Tim, Valerie J. Muniz and husband Cecil; father-in-law, Clyde I. Lovato; sister-in-law, Kathy Lovato Ayala; brother-in-law, Robert B. Lovato; nieces, Amber Lee Maes and companion Adrian Romero, Maria Elena Romero, Elizabeth Estrada, Joseph Lee Estrada, Christina Estrada and numerous other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Memorial mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Velarde. The family of Brenda L.
