Brandi Ortiz Merrifield

Brandi Monique Ortiz Merrifield, age 22, a resident of Chimayo, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2016. She was preceded in death by her aunt and uncle, Benjie and Devonna Sena; grandparents, Willie and Celina Trujillo; grandparents, Louise Ortiz and Lourdes Ortega; cousins, Guero Danny Martinez, Steven and Debbi Padilla, and Jacyana Gallegos. Brandi was a courageous, adventurous, and free spirited individual. She loved makeup, hairstyling, and was very photogenic. Brandi was a loving, caring, and compassionate friend, daughter and mother. She loved her children dearly. Brandi is survived by her children, Isaiah Christian Ortiz, Jayla Alexis Ortiz, and Marcos Vigil; parents, Paula Ortiz and Billy Merrifield; brother, Randy Ortiz-Martinez; aunt and uncle, Lisa and Roland Bustos; aunt, Nada Trujillo; grandparents, Clarence and Laura Ortiz; grandmother, Lana Nadine Merrifield; aunt, Nada Merrifield; uncle, Donavan Merrifield; aunt and uncle, Angie and Charlie Trujillo; aunt and uncle, Mable and Paul Padilla, including many numerous other relatives, family and friends. A wake will be held on Friday, August 12, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Burial to follow at the Holy Family Catholic Cemetery.
