Bonnie Reider, 71, a resident of Chimayo, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014 after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Alice Reider of Los Alamos and by her beloved pets, Desert and Milagro. Bonnie was a unique and exciting individual who enlivened the world with her vivacious personality. She loved children, animals and nature in all its forms. In her career as a high school counselor Bonnie influenced the lives of hundreds of students. She generously shared her gifts of spirit, honesty and insight with those around her and developed friends from every walk of life. As a world traveler, loving family member and volunteer bird handler at The Wildlife Center, Bonnie brought joy to the lives of those she touched. She is survived by her spouse, Paula Dean and Paula's sons Greg Ostrolencki and wife Janna, and Chris Ostrolencki and wife Jennifer; sisters, Robin Reider, Susan Reider Kilkenny and husband Tim; nieces and nephews Jessica Knight and husband Ray Brooks, Jacob Knight and wife Aurora, Erik Knight, Alison Kilkenny and husband Joe Varco-Mirth, and Mia Raslevich and husband Mike; plus all the special little children who loved her. She will be missed. Celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, March 9, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Wildlife Center, 19 Wheat Street in Española. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wildlife Center in Española. The family of Bonnie Reider has entrusted their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley. \r\n
