BETTY LIZ GONZALES, 44, a resident of El Rancho, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 19, 2011. She was preceded in death by her father, Nelson Gonzales; brothers, Donald and Gene Gonzales and sister, Karen Gonzales. Ms. Gonzales is survived by her fiancé, Richard Trujillo; children, Harold Romero III and companion Sharon Gonzales; granddaughter, Kaceylyn Romero; daughter, Ashley Romero and companion Jacob Martinez; father of her children, Harold Romero; parents, Edulia and Horace Montoya; brothers and sisters, Lillian Gonzales and companion George Sena, Judy Romero and husband Frankie, Angie Trujillo and husband Charlie, Phillip Gonzales and fiancé, Tamara Martinez, Anthony and wife Annette and Manuel Gonzales and wife Margaret; special niece like a daughter, Kathleen Martinez; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a wake to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Friday, September 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Española. Burial to follow at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Walter “Goosey” Rodriguez, Manuel “Mongito” Gonzales, Carlos Trujillo, Gene Gonzales, John Paul Martinez and Carlos Gallegos. Honorary pallbearers named are, Eric Martinez, Ericka Martinez, Gabriel Duran, Demitri Rodriguez and Kyle Rodriguez.
