BERTHA E. ROYBAL, 82, a lifelong resident of Dixon, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 29, 2016 with her loving family by her side. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dionicio and Patricia Griego; husband, Jose Roybal; sons, Paul and Arthur Roybal; brothers and sisters, Mabel Sanchez, Amy Armijo, Elive Griego and Salomon Griego. Mrs. Roybal is survived by her brother, Joe Griego; daughter, Patty Valdez; granddaughter, Annie Roybal, Tamara Roybal and Claudia Valdez-Martinez and husband Antonio; grandsons, Chris Gurule and Michael Gallegos; great-grandchildren, Serenity Gallegos, Estevan Gurule and Cameron Gallegos and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a devotional service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Dixon. Burial to follow at the Dixon Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers Tamara Roybal, Claudia Valdez Martinez, Michael Gallegos, Zachary Griego, Chris Gurule, and Antonio Martinez, honorary pallbearers are all five of her grandchildren.
