Bernie Maestas

Bernie F. Maestas, 65, a resident of Tierra Azul, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vidal and Alicia Maestas; sister, Teresa Maestas; brothers, Rubel and Vidal Maestas; brothers-in-law, Toby Montaño, Freddy Archuleta and Wilfred Salazar; beloved niece and nephew, Beverly and Randy Maestas. Bernie is survived by his children, Francine, Fredrica and Brandon Maestas; grandchildren, Francesca, Tarin, Mila and Zynobiah; sisters, Emelia Chavez, Carol Maestas, Lydia Montaño, Anita Salazar, Flora Garcia (Leroy), Corrine Romero (Phil), Jennie Archuleta, and Rosalie Handrahan; sister-in-law, Rosalie Maestas; mothers of his children, Frances Quintana and Irene Montoya; many other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Monday, January 8, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Anne’s Catholic Church, NM State Road 68, Alcalde. The family of Bernie Maestas has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
