Bernie - Age 76 - Espanola - Gonzales

Bernie Gonzales – a resident of Arroyo Seco passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2010 following a long term illness. She was preceded in death by her parents: Vicente and Eliza Garcia; husband, Filadelphio (Phil) Medina; and brothers and sisters: Florentino and Nicolas Garcia and Frances, Isabel and Eulalia (Lala). She enjoyed going to the Senior Citizens at the Senior Strokes in Española. She also enjoyed taking care of people, especially her friends. Whether they were sick or they needed to be driven to Dr. Appointments or just to go to the Senior Citizens, she was there. She enjoyed crocheting and taking care of her yard. She is survived by her two sons: Ignacio Medina and wife Florence and Lorenzo Medina and wife Patricia; five grandchildren: Lino Medina and wife Sarah, Elias Medina and wife Lucia, Julio Medina and wife Shaynne Padilla, Orlando Medina and Deserea Medina; five great-grandchildren: Lourdes and Isaiah Medina, Marissa Abeyta and Jeremiah and Josiah Medina; brother, Manuel Garcia and wife Diolinda; sister, Orlinda Williams and husband Chan; and numerous nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pojoaque. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pojoaque, with burial to follow at the Pojoaque Cemetery.
