Bernardo Lujan, 94, a resident of El Rancho passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2012. He served in the United States Army, March 7, 1941 to September 24, 1945, starting in “D” Company -351st infantry and was later attached to the 804th Tank Destroyer Battalion, serving in North Africa, Rome Italy and Po Valley. Bernardo was a proud owner and operator of Lake View Barber Shop in Los Alamos and retired in 1980 after 30 years as a barber. Bernardo was preceded in death by his son, Bernardo Lujan, Jr.; parents, Juan and Francisquita Lujan; sister, Susanita Ortiz; brothers: Medardo, Patricio and Juanito Lujan. Bernardo is survived by his wife of 65 years, Annie S. Lujan of El Rancho; daughter, Berlina Ortiz and husband Samuel of Cuyamungue; son, Carlos Lujan of Galisteo; grandchildren: Michael Ortiz and wife Winona, Adrian Ortiz and wife Bianca, Dominic Sauer and wife DeAnna and Rosa Maria Lujan; great-grandchildren: Chenoah, Hailey, Dante, Kira, Adrian II, Jaden, Marcos, Robert and Alyah; brother, Joe Lujan and wife Erma of Santa Fe; sisters: Flossie Ortiz of Pojoaque, Mary and husband Abed of Denver; sisters-in-law: Helen Lujan of Rio Rancho and Frances Lujan of Nambe; special niece, Maureen Trujillo; numerous other loving relatives & friends. Public visitation will be held on Sunday, September 16, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. at Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pojoaque with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 17, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pojoaque with burial to take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. with the following serving as pallbearers: Michael Ortiz, Adrian Ortiz, Dominic Sauer, Harold Gomez, Gilbert Ortiz, Anthony Serna, Dante Ortiz and Adrian Ortiz II; honorary pallbearers: Joe Lujan, Adrian Marrujo and Joe T.
