Bernardita Gallegos – 86, a resident of Española formerly of Canjilon passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2011 after a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Delfido Gallegos; son, Jose Gallegos; parents, Enrique and Gomicinda Baca; brother, Enrique Lucio Baca; sister, Salome Manzanares. Bernardita is survived by her children: Thomas Gallegos and wife Gloria of Grand Junction, CO; Linda Archuleta and husband Christobal of Tierra Amarilla and Dora Sena of Española; grandchildren raised by her: Kim Ledden and husband Doug of Austin, TX; Jose and Bernice Sena both of Española and Renee Sena of Rio Rancho; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; brother/sisters: Aquilino Baca and wife Dolores of Canjilon, Fabiola Sandoval of Santa Fe, Adela Martinez of Canjilon and Sabina Archuleta and husband Manuel of Monte Vista, CO; best friend, Reyes Manzanares of La Mesilla; son-in-law, Alfred Sena of Española; grandchildren, Melanie, Kim, Jose, Darryl, Yvette, Bernice, Audrey, Wyvonne, Chris, Carlos, Joella and Orlie; great-grandchildren, Nathaniel, Renee, Anna, Alyssa, Darilyn, Melaine, Cole, Danielle, Kaitlyn, MaKayla and Darryl Jr., Kilee, Bryce, Haley, Joleen, Jose, Joshua, M.J., Brandon, Zachary, Shane and Sienna; great-great-grandchildren, Dominic and Elena and numerous other loving relatives & friends; her dogs: Max and Pebbles; cat, Angel. Public visitation will be held on Monday, October 3, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Española. Burial to take place at 3:00 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
