Bernadette Y. Gonzales, 28, a resident of Española, originally of La Madera was called upon to be with the Lord Thursday, August 16, 2012. Bernadette was preceded in death by her father, Marty Lane; step-father, Ralph Pacheco; grandmother, Jenny Hudson; great-grandmothers, Felomena Jaramillo and Rosa Griego; uncle, Felix Griego and cousin, Audrey Gonzales. Bernadette was an outgoing, fun and very loving person who enjoyed spending time with others. She was one of the most amazing people you would ever meet. She spent her life caring for her children, family and friends. She was a wonderful person who always put others before herself. Bernadette enjoyed being outdoors and especially liked to be in the mountains. She was a thoughtful and true person. She was a blessing and a gift that will definitely be missed by everyone who knew her. Bernadette is survived by her companion, Eric Montoya; children, Jasmin and Jayden Montoya; mother, Debbie Pacheco; grandmother, Olympia Gonzales; brother, Gene Pacheco (Joyce Martinez); sister, Angelica Pacheco; niece, Adriana Pacheco; nephew, Ralph Pacheco; aunts, BrendaLee Montoya (Marvin), Rosemary Gonzales, Laura Griego; uncles, Marvin Gonzales (Bernadette), Lino Tapia, Leonard Griego, Chris Hudson and David Lane; God-children, Miranda Medina and Derek Lane Jr.; special cousins, Nadine Gonzales and Derek Lane. Public visitation will begin on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 20, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. also in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial to follow at La Madera Cemetery. The family of Bernadette Y. Gonzales has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home and Crematory of the Española Valley.
