Bernabe "Bernie" Segura

BERNABE SEGURA “BERNIE”, a lifetime resident of Los Alamos, NM born in Santa Fe, passed away on Monday, February 18, 2013. He was employed by LANL for 37 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Barnabe and Adela Segura; siblings: Tomas Segura and Rose Porter. Bernie is survived by his wife of 56 years, Annie R. Segura; children he raised as his own, Pres Garcia and Anna Garcia Poskey; father-in-law to, Marie Garcia and Dan Poskey; silly grandpa to: Kristopher Austin, Miranda, Elizabeth, Caleb, and Savanna Joy Poskey; grandpa to, Brenda Martinez (deceased), Joseph Martinez, Jeanelle Martinez and Derek Garcia. Bernie had a large heart and opened his home and cared for his nephews and nieces: Judy Montoya, Jacob Espinoza, Ken Gonzales and Barbara Gonzales; brothers/sisters: Lori Rodriguez and her husband Jake, Joe Pat Segura and David Segura all residents of Santa Fe, Casey Gallegos of Teas; numerous nephews, nieces and other loving relatives & friends. A rosary will be recited on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Los Alamos. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 22, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Los Alamos with burial to follow at Guaje Pines Cemetery in Los Alamos with the following serving as pallbearers: Joseph Martinez, Derek Garcia, Dan Poskey, Kristopher Austin Poskey, Joe Pat Segura and David Segura; honorary pallbearers: Caleb Poskey, Kenny Gonzales and Patrick Segura. The family of Bernabe Segura “Bernie” has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
