Benjamin - Age 31 - Española - Lujan

\r\nBenjamin Carlos (BC) Lujan, 31, of Española, passed away on April 17, 2014 after a lengthy illness. Ben was born on March 14, 1983 and was the son of Cynthia and Paul Lujan of Alcalde. Ben obtained his EMT license and certification from Northern New Mexico College in 2005. He was a daycare teacher at the Rock Christian Outreach Center, a substitute teacher at EVHS and various other places for several years. He was also an avid volunteer, having served with organizations such as the Rodeo de Santa Fe, the American Red Cross, Española Valley Humane Society, For Kids’ Sake and Positive Life Choices of America. He was a very caring person and had a passion for rescuing feral animals. He loved gaming, playing his guitar and spending time with his family and friends, especially his beloved wife Angel. Ben was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Fauster H. Honaberger and Louisa Maestas Honaberger, padrino Elmer Dee Parham, his infant sister Lourdes Sanchez, paternal grandmother Louisa Sisneros Lujan and uncle Louis Lujan. He is survived by his wife Angel Pacheco-Lujan of Española; parents Cynthia and Paul Lujan; paternal grandparents Paul Sr. and Nancy Lujan; brothers Fernando (Denise) Sanchez of Waxahachie, Texas and David Lujan (Blossom) of Española; sister AnaLucia (Ernesto) Valdez of Rio Rancho; nieces and nephews: Sebastian Garcia of Los Alamos; Lily, Esperanza and Samuel Sanchez of Waxahachie; David Lujan of Española; Avaiahbella and Blessing Valdez of Rio Rancho; aunts and uncles: Beaulah (Eugene) Sandoval of Española; Faustina (Jose) Lucero of Santa Clara; Carol Behounek of Albuquerque; David (Julia) Honaberger of Alcalde; Daniel (Angela) Honaberger of Alcalde; Denise (Jamie) O’Hara of Las Cruces; Veronica (Tony) Arroyos of Rio Rancho; Michael (Martha) Lujan of Abiquiu; Walter Lujan of Española; and Valerie Lujan of Brawley, Calif.; special cousin Gabriel Sanchez of Alcalde; padrinos, brother-in-law Alex and sister-in-law Jennifer Garcia of Los Alamos; and mother-in-law Ellie Pacheco of Española and numerous other special relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a memorial and rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Truth Ministries in Arroyo Seco. Burial to take place at Loma Vista Cemetery in Alcalde. The family of Benjamin Lujan has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral & Crematory of the Espanola Valley. \r\n
