Baltazar Zavala, 54, a resident of Espanola, passed away on January 20, 2012. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Abel and Sara Zavala; paternal grandfather; Eliseo Guzman. Baltazar was dedicated to his family. He respected and was well respected by his friends. He was a very humble man. Baltazar tended to his garden and enjoyed spending time taking care of it. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him. Baltazar is survived by his wife, Celina Zavala of Espanola, NM; sons, Mario (Irma), Alejandro (Guadalupe), and Felipe Zavala (Rosalva) all of Espanola, NM; mother-in-law, Francisca Gonzalez of Yuriria, Mexico; sister, Elida Zavala of Taos, NM; nieces: Guadalupe, Angel, Ashley, Navid, and Maite Zavala all of Espanola, NM; numerous other loving relatives and friends. Public visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Interment will take place in Guanajato, Mexico.
