Aurelia Johnson

AURELIA IDA JOHNSON, 89, a resident of Chimayo, passed away following a short illness on Monday, December 14, 2015. Aurelia was preceded in death by her parents, Enemecio and Celsa Martinez; brothers, Benjamin Martinez, sister, Maria Johnson, Andrea Martinez; son, Brian Johnson, and daughter, Deborah Johnson. Aurelia loved gardening, bowling, going to the casino and crocheting. She was a member of various Farmers Markets in the area. Aurelia will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Aurelia is survived by her sons, Joseph and David Johnson; grandchildren, Ronnie Lopez, Jerrad Johnson and wife Crystal, Jillian Johnson and companion Mario Herrera, Kristin, Jeremy and Kevin Johnson,  great-grandchildren, Malikai and Niko Lopez, Camryn Johnson, Katelynn and Luke Herrera; sister, Ruby Knight and many other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Burial to follow at the Nuestra Senora de Dolores Cemetery in Chimayo with the following serving as pallbearers, Jerrad Johnson, Ronnie and Norman Lopez, Steven Knight, Carlos Vasquez, Jr. and Emiliano Vasquez. The family of Aurelia Ida Johnson has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
