Augustine Montaño 85, passed away in Los Angeles, California of natural causes on April 2, 2013 while hospitalized in Sylmar, California. Augustine was born on May 2, 1926 in Leadville, CO. He was preceded in death by his father Antonio Montano, mother Eufemia Baca Velarde of El Llano, New Mexico, brother Robert Luis Montaño from Edgewood, and sister Celina Montaño Vigil, Arroyo Seco. He is survived by many nephews and nieces in New Mexico and California. Augustine served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After the War, he spent most of his life working in California and later moved to New Mexico to care for his mother until her death in 1991. Mr. Augustine Montaño will be interred at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on July 10 at 11:15 a.m. along with his elder brother Rafael Alonzo (Lonny) Montaño of Los Alamos, New Mexico who passed away on June 29, 2013.
