Ascencion (Sennie) Lujan, departed from this life peacefully on December 3, 2010. She was preceded in death by her parents Abran & Ramoncita Sena Vigil; sisters: Rosalda Vigil, Celina V. Roybal, Mela V. Hight, Eleuteria V. (Lou) Trujillo, Susie V. Trujillo; brothers: Nicholas Vigil, Isidore Vigil, Epimenio Vigil, and Arsenio Vigil who was reared by her parents and Infant children: Mary Anastasia and John Vincent. Sennie is survived by her husband, Augustine (Gus) Lujan, son Eddie Lujan and wife Rosa M. of Albuquerque; daughters, Cecilia Lujan of the home and Angela and husband, Larry Vigil of Albuquerque; grandchildren Amanda L. Cola and husband Mark, Monica Vigil Ditto and husband Brady, Amy L. Fresquez and husband Joseph, Vincent Vigil and wife Audrey and Stefanie Vigil and fiancé Jason Cordova; great-grand children Shadai and Gabriella Vigil, Leah and Samantha Ditto, Kadin and Gracie Swensen, Ava Cola, Brenden and Zachary Fresquez, and Amanda and LJ Archibeque. She is also survived by her sisters Theresa Morwaski, Virgie Allee, Tillie Birrer, and her brother, Ernest Vigil. In her professional life, Sennie worked at the Los Alamos National Laboratories, the Espanola Telephone Company, Ghost Ranch Museum, and the Department of the Interior working at Bandelier National Monument and the Santa Fe Regional Office. She retired from the National Park Service in 1987, after 20 years of service. Sennie was a devout member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Society since 1948. She was also a member of the Holy Cross Parish Altar and Rosary Society and Celadora of the Holy Family – Fairview #10 Group. She served in various parish committees. She was an Oblate of the Precious Blood – “Handmaids of the Precious Blood Sisters” in Jemez Springs for many years.\r\nServices are scheduled as follows:\r\nRosary at Holy Cross Church on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at 4:00 p.m.\r\nMass of the Resurrection at Holy Cross Church on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 8:30 a.m.\r\nBurial to follow after the Mass at the Veteran’s National Cemetery in Santa Fe at 11:00 a.m.\r\nServing as pallbearers will be Vincent Vigil, Brady Ditto, Joseph Fresquez, Jason Cordova, Andrew Trujillo and John Ricci. Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her god-children, Rita Montoya, Andrew Trujillo and Pamela Thomas. Other honorary pallbearers include Marie Vigil, David Roybal, Rosalda Speckled Rock, Earl Myers, Roberta Diaz, Michael Vigil, Russell Allee and George Birrer, Jr. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Sons of the Holy Family, Silver Springs, Maryland c/o Holy Cross Church, Santa Cruz, NM.
