Arturo W. Age - 75 - Peñasco Pacheco

Arturo W. Pacheco, 75, a resident of Peñasco passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2012. Arturo was a hard working man. He was a Veteran with the Marine Corps. Arturo also worked for the New Mexico State Penitentiary. He retired after 32 years from Los Alamos National Lab. Mr. Pacheco loved his family dearly. He was fond of his daughter-in-law, Eva & son-in-law, Pedro; he treated them like his own. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Arturo had a great sense of humor and made friends easily. He enjoyed being outdoors hunting and snowmobiling. He will be dearly missed. Arturo was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine R. Pacheco; parents, Silviano and Telesfora Pacheco; brother, Elmo Pacheco; father-in-law, Manuel Griego; sister-in-law, Jane Pacheco; brothers-in-law: Isaac Griego, Manuel Griego Jr., Donald Velarde and Donald Chase; niece, Arianna Rendon; nephew, Lawrence Velarde. Mr. Pacheco is survived by his daughter, Angela M. Martinez and husband Pedro of Rio Lucio, NM; son, Edward Pacheco and wife Eva of Peñasco, NM; brother, Floyd Pacheco of Santa Fe; sister, Cordelia Chase of Denver, CO; brother, Rudy Pacheco and wife Gloria of Rio Lucio; mother-in-law, Eleanor Griego of Dixon, NM; sisters-in-law, Dorcas Velarde of Dixon, NM, Gladys Saldana and husband Hector of Alamogordo, NM, Evila Rendon and husband David of Dixon, NM; granddaughter, Michelle Martinez of Rio Lucio, NM; grandsons: Matthew Martinez of Rio Lucio, Adam Pacheco and fiancé Robin of Peñasco, Jeffrey and Isaac Pacheco of Peñasco, NM; numerous other loving relatives & friends. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in Peñasco. Memorial mass will be celebrated Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. also at the San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in Peñasco. Burial to follow at 2:15 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. The family of Arturo W. Pacheco has entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
