Arturo G. Borrego, 93, a resident of El Guique passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2011. Arturo was a well known tractor and automotive mechanic. He loved farming and bailing hay. In his early life Arturo was recruited into the CC Camps in Bandelier, where he learned the trade of wood work. He was preceded in death by his wife, Arabella Borrego; son, Floyd Borrego; parents, Juan Rafael and Deluvina Borrego. Arturo is survived by his children: Rosabelle DeNoi of California, Michael Borrego and wife Tina of El Guique, Gilbert Borrego of El Guique, Mary Ann Martinez and husband Mario of Belen, Ralph, Andrew, Raymond, Johnny, Pauline and Jacob Borrego all of El Guique, Michelle Borrego of Ojo Caliente; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia George of California; special nephew and niece: Joseph and Ester Lopez of Albuquerque; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Arturo adored being around his family, especially with his granddaughter, Celinna, who was very close to his heart. Public visitation will be held on Friday, March 11, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Church in San Juan with a rosary to be recited at 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church in San Juan with interment to follow at San Rafael Cemetery in El Guique with the following serving as pallbearers: Angelo Borrego, Jason Borrego, Kenny Branch, Miguel Borrego, Vicente Borrego and Jacob Borrego; honorary pallbearers: Henry Pacheco, Joseph Lopez and Ralph Gallegos.
